This convivial evening is hosted by Ollie Moore, Mel White, and Davie Philip with a sumptuous meal, led by Johanna Taferner of the Night Orchard, using spectacular, seasonal ingredients from Cloughjordan Community Farm, Riot Rye Bakery, the RED gardens and other local providers.

Guest speakers in recent years include Mark Boyle, Ella McSweeney, Paul Kingsnorth, Cara Augustenberg, Mary Reynolds, Lorna Gold and Rob Hopkins.

The elements that weave an evening SpeakEATsy together vary. Sometimes solo musicians, singer songwriters or full bands play. Sometimes traditional poets, performance poets or other performers take to the stage. Sometimes we hear from a panel, other times it’s an in-depth interview. And sometimes, your own dining table chews on rounds of questions and digests conversation starters.

Whatever happens, bring your dancing shoes too as our Pressure Drop and Anacalypsis DJs will get you out of your seat and onto your feet well into the wee small hours.

Expect a full mind and body workout.
