Michael Cronin (1776 Professor of French, TCD, Ollamh le Fraincis 1776, Coláiste na Tríonóide) April 2020
Michael Cronin will give a bilingual talk on the subject of his new book on Irish and ecology in which he argues that endangered languages like Irish ‘offer a way of engaging with the non-human world which can teach us invaluable skills for a future where the non-human is coming back to exact climate revenge on human hubris’.
Tabharfaidh Michael Cronin caint dátheangach ar ábhar a leabhair nua ar an Ghaeilge agus an éiceolaíocht. Leagfaidh sé béim ar thábhacht na Gaeilge ‘chun an nasc idir an chríoch dhaonna agua na críocha nádúrtha a athchruthú agus a shlánú’.
No charge but donations welcome to pay for room rental. Booking not needed.
