A Taste of Cloughjordan Ecovillage

APPLE PRESSING FOOD CAFE & STALLS GAMES TALKS & WORKSHOPS TOURS & APPLE BAKE CONTEST

Get ready for a delightful celebration of all things apple at Féile na nÚll, the annual community apple festival! This vibrant event will take place on Saturday, September 20th, starting at 1:00 pm in the beautiful Cloughjordan Ecovillage.

A highlight of the festival is the hands-on apple pressing. Bring your own apples and containers to transform them into delicious, freshly squeezed juice!

Beyond the pressing, a food cafe and various stalls will offer a tempting selection of culinary treats, local produce, and unique handmade crafts – a perfect opportunity for food enthusiasts and curious shoppers alike.

Adding a delicious competitive spirit to the day is the Apple Bake Contest. Participants are invited to showcase their best apple-based creations, from comforting pies to flavorful chutneys.

For those keen to learn, engaging talks and insightful tours will be offered throughout the day, providing a chance to connect with the local community and discover more about sustainable living.

Whether you’re passionate about food, love nature, or simply seek a fun and educational day out, Féile na nÚll has something special for you. So, save the date, gather your apples, and come join the festivities!

FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
Saturday 20 September 1:00pm – 6:00pm

Enterprise Centre – Cloughjordan Ecovillage E53VP86

Food Cafe with The Night Orchard
The Night Orchard will be serving tasty soup and apple curry with riot rye bread.
They will also serve coffee, teas, chocolate brownies and apple cinnamon bake.
Apple Pressing

The Night Orchard will be operating an apple press to make freshly pressed apple juice on the day.  The press is fully participatory and family friendly! Bring your own apples for pressing or gather them on the day from around the Ecovillage. Remember if you want to bring your juice home to bring containers to store your fresh juice (note the 2:1 ratio, with 10 kilos of apples producing 5 litres of juice – depending on variety). We will also have a bicycle powered juicer in operation for the more energetic to try!

Pressing is free between 1:00pm and 6:00pm, but donation are welcome.

This is one of hundreds of events being held across Europe celebrating the European Sustainable Development Week.
